Rise & Shine Entrepreneurial Gardening EnterpriseThe 4th-grade classes of Ms. Albrecht and Mrs. Parkison received a $5,000 grant from the Paul B. and Constance D. Hunter Charitable Foundation to fund their Rise and Shine Entrepreneurial Gardening Enterprise.
The life cycle of plants is part of the 4th-grade science curriculum, and the garden will serve as a hands-on lab for learning. Once the project is in full operation, students will grow vegetables and herbs that will be used in the Matanzas High School Culinary Program. They will also grow Florida drought-tolerant plants to be used in the agricultural flagship at Indian Trails Middle School.
These partnerships  teach our students entrepreneurial skills that they can use as they transition from Classrooms to Careers.
